Why
Wharfies, seafarers, and maritime workers from all across the industry will descend on the Lawns of Parliament House to send a clear message: we want secure maritime jobs.
Why? Maritime workers are fighting on multiple fronts.
We're fighting the abuse of AI and automation by corporate grubs putting profit over people. We're standing up for Australian seafarers and their right to work on their own coast. We're fighting to secure our own strategic fleet.
We're going to Parliament to show our united resolve in the fight to secure jobs for all maritime workers, at sea, in ports, and on the waterfront.
To our allies, if you believe in secure Australian jobs, this fight is yours too. We urge you to turn up and support us.
Members: Branch delegations will depart from Sydney and Port Kembla for Canberra on the 24th 730 AM. Please reach out to your local branch to secure a seat on the bus. Buses will be returning on the same day (TIMES TBA).
