Why
Join us on Thursday 19 March at 6pm for – Frack Off Santos – an event that will shed light on the decades of campaigning to keep frackers out of the Territory.
Groundwater sustains life in the Northern Territory, supplying 90% of our water needs. Now mega polluter Santos wants to frack our pristine waterways.
But this isn't the first time the Territory's water has been at risk from gas frackers.
A long and inspiring history of campaigning has held back the expansion of the gas industry in the NT to protect our precious groundwater.
For almost 20 years, Traditional Owners, pastoralists, health experts, and environmentalists have united and held this industry at bay.
Hear from campaign legends Sam Phelan, Louis Boyle-Bryant, Kirsty Howey and more to find out how you can get involved in stopping mega-polluter Santos from fracking our waterways.
Santos couldn’t be trusted to fix a methane leak at its Darwin LNG plant, and they can’t be trusted to frack the Territory.
They’ve done enough damage. We can’t let them get an even bigger foothold in the Northern Territory. If Santos is allowed to proceed, our precious waterways could be trashed for good. And once that’s happened, there’s no going back.
Together, we’ve held the fracking industry at bay for close to 20 years, and we will do it again.
