Why
MEAA and CPSU members at the ABC are taking strike action.
After years of budget cuts, insecure contracts, and declining real wages, staff have had enough. They are fighting for sustainable jobs, fair salary progression, and the working conditions required to deliver the quality news and content South Australians rely on.
ABC management needs to see that the public supports the workers who keep our national broadcaster strong. We are calling on all unionists and supporters to gather at the Adelaide ABC bureau to cheer these workers on as they take a stand, and walk off the job.
Show your solidarity
Bring your workmates, your union flags, and your loudest voices. Let’s show ABC staff they are not alone and prove to management that the community stands behind a well-funded, fairly treated workforce.
How You Can Help
- Attend the rally: Join the crowd at 10:15am to greet the workers as they exit the building.
- Spread the word: Invite your colleagues and fellow union members to join the line.
- Respect the picket: From 10:30am on the 25th until 10:30am on the 26th of March, we ask all supporters and organisations to refrain from participating in ABC interviews or sending media releases to the broadcaster.
Support the workers who support our ABC.
- Sign the petition to support workers in demanding respect
- Donate today to support ABC staff during the strike
