Why

From the director of Mediterraneo, and winner of 7 Goya Awards (Spanish Oscars) including Best Film, El 47 is based on a true story about a local bus driver as rebel leader - using civil disobedience to overcome a fascist dictatorship. With its clear message for the current horrors of the rise of extremism across the world, this is a timely, enormously human, emotional roller-coaster that will have you cheering from Federal Film Society’s newly installed plush seats (Revolution with a comfy butt!).

A feel-good movie about the power of community mobilisation around a disenfranchised group of working-class immigrants and outsiders - a perfect match for the caterers: our very own Federal Loves Refugees.

  • Saturday, February 7
  • Dinner from 6pm (come early to avoid missing out!)
  • Film from 8pm
