Why

Unite together 10 years on from the murder of David Dungay Jnr inside Long Bay Jail — and still, no justice.

David’s last words, “I can’t breathe,” echoed through our communities and across the world. His story became a powerful symbol during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in Sydney, when over 50,000 thousands marched demanding justice for David and for every Blak life taken in custody.

We invite and stand with all families who have lost loved ones in custody. This fight belongs to all of us — every mother, father, sibling, child, and community still waiting for truth and accountability.

Families who wish to have their voices heard or take up a speaker’s position on the day are encouraged to reach out. Your stories, your strength, and your truth deserve to be heard.

Stand for David. Stand for all our people. Stand for justice.
