Why
This event has been cancelled.
After discussions with activist groups, APAN and members of the community who support the weekly Honk events - and reflecting on recent events - organisers of the weekly Honk have collectively decided not to go ahead with the action this Saturday 20th of December.
We all continue to share the deep grief and frustration with how tens of thousands of deaths in Gaza are being ignored, and how some politicians and media outlets are placing the responsibility for growing antisemitism at the feet of the Palestinian solidarity movement. Our collective has always had a zero-tolerance stance on all forms of racism - including antisemitism and islamophobia.
We also appreciate that this is a really difficult time for members of the Jewish community, and other faith groups (particularly those who face backlash and scapegoating as a result of this week's events) and we want to keep our supporters and the members of the broader community safe and well.
We will monitor the situation and consult with the wider community and update here when actions recommence.
We call once again for unity and support to those community members most directly affected by the horrific events in Bondi this week and call on all of you to look after one another in these challenging times.

Honk for Palestine will take place on December 13th and 20th, and then take a little break until the new year (no Honk the 27th of December or the 3rd of January).
Watch this space for updates on new happenings in 2026, and further events.
We know this is a hectic time for many, and we know that many of us are still thinking about Palestine - continued attacks and horrendous weather events hitting the survivors in Gaza, ongoing assaults on every aspect of daily life in the West Bank, as well as the continuing experience of apartheid for 48' Palestinians living in what is known as Israel.
None of this will end until international governments take tangible steps to end it - sanctions, arms embargos and prosecutions now.
