Why

All MEAA members and supporters are invited to the second annual vigil to observe the United Nations International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, which will be held on Sunday, November 2.

During the vigil we will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the killing of the Balibo Five and Roger East, as well as lament the killing of all journalists and media workers over the last year.

The vigil will include brief tributes and the reading of the names of all journalists and media workers killed on duty during the last 12 months.

This is a solemn vigil; please leave flags and banners at home, union t-shirts are encouraged.
