Tell Jera to stop funding Santos!

Why

JERA is involved in the expansion of the fossil fuel business around the world from upstream to downstream. In partnership with Santos and SK E&K, JERA is advancing the Barossa Gas Project in Australia, which not only endangers the cultural heritage of the First Nations but also poses a significant threat to our global climate.
Indigenous community members who will be affected by the project raised their voices and made their position clear that they do not want the project in their country. Yet the project is proceeding without adequate consultation and “free, prior and informed consent” (FPIC) with the Traditional Owners. Legal challenges stopped the project for over a year, but unfortunately the Australian court is letting the project proceed.
In order to be heard, the Traditional Owners requested a meeting with JERA, but JERA declined the request. People across Australia, Canada and Japan are standing in solidarity with Traditional Owners and calling on JERA, Santos and the banks funding the project to respect Traditional Owners' human rights.
