Worlds Collide - Global Community Tour
Straight out of the urban jungles of Western Sydney – Worlds Collide crosses the boundaries between cultures and communities galvanising pathways for new contemporary music in Australia.
Fun, authentic, energetic and engaging, Worlds Collide melds languages and genres to make you think and dance, with seven cultures fusing hip hop rhymes, melodic hooks, African percussion, Latin drums, Silk Road melodies and heavy metal guitars.
They have created a cross cultural sound from Western Sydney with a pop sensibility, reflecting their local and our global community diversity.
Live, they deliver the thunderous attack of a rock & roll band to the inspirational and contemplative vibrations of a Sufi-inspired hip hop hymn... Imagine a mix of Ice T, Fela Kuti and Florence and the Machine, with grooves that invites the audience to move their bodies, laying a foundation for the social conscious lyrics from the streets of Mt Druitt.
Worlds Collide was launched on a Carpark Roof in Parramatta for the 2016 Sydney Sacred Music Festival and have gone on to perform at Sydney world music festivals and venues and is now taking their sound to the world with the launch of their album and Global Community tour.
Look out for them at your next Protest Rally, Club, Block Party or Festival!
“Shohrat Tursun, a Uyghur, played the dutar (two-string lute) and sang with a majesty and rawness akin to that of flamenco vocalists, and bassist Jonathan Nanlohy (Ambon/Australia) delivered a poignant spoken-word piece” SMH John Shand
Building community wherever they go…Worlds Collide fuses and features:
