Resistance is everywhere

If you believe the advertisement that the personnel firm Officeteam ran in a number of major newspapers on January 29, temporary work is now the cutting edge of the revolution.

"Your resistance to the bonds of 9-5 slavery is about to be rewarded. Your professionalism, experience and flexibility mean you shouldn't have to struggle for the right temping assignment. Emerge from the underground and savour the sweet taste of victory. Join the OFFICETEAM resistance movement and put an end to the tyranny of tedium."

This is gratifying confirmation that even company directors and advertising executives recognise a general progressive consciousness amongst young people. Officeteam is playing to this consciousness in order to sell its services.

However, what this sort of advertising is really about is convincing young people that they can "make it" within the existing system, that hard-working individuals are rewarded and can change things — as long as they modify their goals to be more realistic.

There are much better ways of "working" towards the revolution. Join the real Resistance!
