Why

Israel’s ongoing blockade of Gaza has created a devastating hunger crisis, putting over 320,000 children at risk of acute malnutrition and leaving 40,000 infants at risk of imminent death. The deliberate starvation of 2.3 million people has pushed the Strip to the brink of collapse.

Despite mounting public pressure, the Australian government has failed to take meaningful action. Our government continues to allow shipments of military supplies to Israel, including a shipment of F-35 parts just last month, and has not imposed sanctions despite the clear violations of international law and perpetration of war crimes.

Following the massive March for Humanity across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on August 3, Palestine solidarity groups across Australia have called for a nationwide march on August 24. The rallies are demanding an end to the starvation and genocide, and are calling on the Australian government to impose sanctions on Israel and enforce a two-way arms embargo. We will hear from speakers and march at 1pm to Hyde Park.
