An online showing of Juntera, a film about the commune movement in Venezuela, raised $425 for the planned construction of a childcare centre in a Venezuelan village.

The film was shown by the Melbourne-based Venezuela Solidarity Campaign (VSC) on August 19. The next fundraiser will be a showing of the film Chavez on September 30.

The United States’ economic blockade has damaged the Venezuelan economy and harmed its people. The VSC is preparing a booklet to explain the dire economic circumstances in the country, which the corporate media stays largely silent about.
