Why

Join us for a community meeting to learn more about the proposed Speewah fluorite mine and discuss potential risks and impacts for the Dunham River and surrounding waterways.

RSVP, stay in touch.

We’ll also discuss the importance of the Dunham River to the lower Ord River system and the questions that need to be considered when assessing a major mining proposal in a monsoonal and flood-prone environment.

The meeting will cover:

  • The proposed Speewah fluorite mine
  • Water use and groundwater extraction
  • Mine waste and tailings storage
  • Potential risks to the Dunham River and downstream waterways
  • Flooding risks and extreme weather considerations
  • Environmental assessment and opportunities for community input

This is an opportunity to ask questions, share information and discuss the issues that matter to the future health of the Dunham River and surrounding waterways.

RSVP, stay in touch.

Everyone is welcome. Snacks, tea and coffee provided.
Please share this event with anyone interested in the future of the Dunham River and the East Kimberley’s waterways.
