Tickets are $20 standard; $15 for Buffalo Club members; free for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples & Sudanese diaspora. 75% of ticket sales go to ASG; 25% to our performers. We'll also have raffle tickets and zines for sale on the night through the Black Swan Anarchist infoshop, to raise extra funds for our Sudanese comrades.
The peoples of Sudan are currently experiencing the worst humanitarian crisis in recorded history. Approx 19.5 mil Sudanese are currently facing crisis levels of food insecurity, while more than 13 mil have been displaced by the conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), and the imperialist backers of both sides.
The AGS was founded in 2017, during protests against dictator Omar Al-Bashir. During the 2019 revolution that overthrew Al-Bashir, the AGS organised within the local resistance committees, advocating anarchist tactics and strategy. Since the current conflict broke out, the AGS have been feeding people through community kitchens, assisting refugees & IDPs, and educating the people about anarchism. Funds raised from the gig will be donated to the AGS through their fundraiser at https://opencollective.com/support-sudanese-comrades and allocated through the group's internal democratic processes to fund mutual aid work, pay legal fees & daily expenses, and support individual members deprived of income due to conflict and displacement.
