50 Years of Deadly

One of the largest NAIDOC community events in Sydney, NAIDOC Family Fun Day brings together thousands of people each year to celebrate culture, community and the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

With a fun carnival atmosphere, it’s perfect for people of all ages. Everybody from toddlers to Elders get into the community-building spirit of the event, while enjoying a range of live performances. All ages can also get hands-on with art and craft workshops.

RSVP online to let us know you're coming and to stay in touch.

In 2026, AbSec marks the 50th year of NAIDOC Week, reflecting on five decades of resistance, survival and culture.

The day has a vibrant carnival atmosphere that welcomes everyone. Families, young people, Elders and community members come together to connect, learn and celebrate in a culturally strong environment.

Join the NAIDOC Family Fun day and experience:

  • Live performances from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists
  • Cultural dance and music that honour tradition and storytelling
  • Art and craft workshops for all ages
  • Activities for children and young people
  • Community stalls and local organisations
  • Spaces to yarn, connect and celebrate together

The event is open for everybody, both Aboriginal and non-Indigenous. This is a chance for people from all walks of life to come together and connect with each other in a meaningful way, while learning about Aboriginal history and culture.

This vibrant event by AbSec promises a day filled with joy, cultural sharing, and community spirit.

Standing in solidarity

NAIDOC Week 2025 marks 50 years of celebrating Indigenous strength, culture, and resilience. This year’s theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, reflects the enduring journey of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples—honouring the past, empowering young leaders, and building a future guided by community-led vision and self-determination.

AbSec proudly stands in solidarity, championing the next generation as they carry forward the legacy of their Elders. We remain committed to ensuring Indigenous voices lead the way, fostering a future grounded in cultural strength, justice, and unity. This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate not just a milestone, but the movement that continues to grow, evolve, and empower generations to come.
