From the Cooks River to the (Pacific) Sea, run with us until Palestine is free!
26 people have been arrested in QLD so far publicly supporting Palestine, charged under Premier Crisafulli's prohibited expressions laws. We've seen state censorship of public artworks and police raids on the homes of citizens and artists calling out the ongoing genocide in Gaza. But the movement for Palestinian liberation is unwavering. Now more than ever is the time to keep showing up for Palestine!
Justice for Palestine Magandjin are fundraising to challenge these prohibited expressions laws in the High Court, and they need all the financial support we can muster. Our own nightmare Premier Chris Minns is hoping to do the same thing in NSW, but saying whether he goes ahead will depend on what happens in Queensland. So we're breaking out the activewear for a good ol' fashion fun run!
Join us at 11am at Moody Creek Lookout.
How does it work?
Form a team or run solo, the main goal is getting the word out and raising dollars for the Justice for Palestine legal fund. We’ll start with some photos at 11, then together we will run (or walk, stroll or roll) along the riverbank for about 2ks to finish at the sea (aka the beach around the corner.)
Prizes for Best Dressed and Most Funds Raised will be awarded on the day.
What are we wearing?
So glad you asked! We’re taking the iconic 80s energy of the recent Farnsey Flashmob into powerwalking/jazzercise leisurewear. Think parachute pants, short shorts, long socks, legwarmers, sweat bands, tiny dumbells in hand. Now hold onto that thought, and put it all on a watermelon.
We'll have fun run bibs and t-shirts available to purchase on the day so bring cash if you love merch!

We want to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Bidjigal people, on whose lands this event will take place, and whose sovereignty was never ceded. We acknowledge that the ongoing occupation and genocide here on this continent is inextricably linked to the continued occupation and genocide in Palestine. Without land back, there can be no justice and no peace.
