Why

Armidale’s 15th annual Reconciliation Bridge Walk  is being co-hosted this year by ANTaR Armidale and the Armidale Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place.

  • When: 12noon on Sunday 31 May, during National Reconciliation Week
  • Where: the picnic area near the Visitor Information Centre, on the corner of Dumaresq and Marsh Streets.

Come and join Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people walking together across Stephen’s Bridge, doing a circuit of the park and then gathering to listen to short speeches and enjoy Aboriginal entertainment.

The event will include a smoking ceremony, and cultural performances by Bob Blair and Lyāmbay Aboriginal Dance Group from Armidale Secondary College.

Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy this friendly, fun, free event. Sausages, curry and fruit will be provided.

This is a great opportunity to join in demonstrating strong commitment in our region to recognition, respect and rights for Aboriginal people.
