Why
We’re excited to invite you to our next documentary screening – and this one is a little different.
Margaret River Regional Environment Centre (MRREC) and Action and Resilience Collective (ARC) Wooditchup have come together to host a screening of Abby Martin’s brand new film, Earth’s Greatest Enemy - a documentary exposé of the world's biggest polluter, which brings into focus the deep connections between environmental and social justice.
Tickets available from Humanitix.
Exempt from international climate agreements and rarely scrutinized in mainstream reporting, the Pentagon is the world’s single largest institutional polluter - spewing carbon, contaminating water, and scarring landscapes across the globe. Combining investigative journalism, striking visuals, and stories from impacted communities, this film challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its planetary consequences.
The film lays bare a truth that’s often ignored: you cannot protect the environment without confronting the systems that are destroying it. Imperialism, militarism and capitalism are not separate from the ecological crisis - they are at its very core.
We’re excited to have several noteworthy speakers joining us for the event, including Sam Wainwright from Stop AUKUS WA, Peter Underwood from the Medical Association for Prevention of War, and, zooming in from deep within the belly of Empire, Jessica Burbank, investigative journalist and filmmaker who has covered the global environmental and social impacts of militarism.
Tickets available from Humanitix.
