35–37 Warren Road
Marrickville NSW 2204

Why
Marrickville residents living in relatively affordable apartments are being threatened with eviction. Their landlord wants to demolish their homes and build an expensive apartment block that residents will not be able to afford.
The residents want to stay in their apartments. The housing crisis means there is nowhere affordable.
The developer is taking the Inner West Council to the Land and Environment Court. A Conciliation Hearing will adjudicate the demolition plan over its social, environmental and economic impacts.
Join residents at the conciliation hearing on their street, and help them save their apartments and stay in their homes. Lawyers, the Council and a Commissioner will be present to hear from community members.
The apartments are within the Labor-dominated Inner West Council, which passed the so-called “Fairer Future” in 2025 — a plan to build 33,000 mostly private, expensive apartments, including allowing the demolition of lower rental homes and only having to include 2% “affordable” housing. “Affordable” housing is 80% of market rent — so not affordable.
Come and support the Warren Road residents and demand IWC comes up with a pro-community plan.
