Why

Every day coal mines across NSW and Australia are fuelling climate change and cooking our planet. There are another 18 coal mine expansion projects in the planning pipeline in NSW alone.

Fossil fuels threaten the people, places and wildlife we love. And we’re all paying the price, from climate-fuelled disasters like heatwaves through rising insurance premiums and health impacts.

Every Friday in February, we'll be outside Member for Newcastle, Tim Crackanthorp's office, waving signs at traffic about how coal is driving climate change and climate disasters are pushing up the cost of living, including rising insurance premiums and essential goods and services.

It’s an impactful and strategic way of being visible to highlight how climate action is cost of living action and asking the local state member to do more. We need our MP's to take urgent action and protect our community from coal-fuelled climate change here in the Hunter and across NSW.

We’ll provide signs, bring your warm smile for a peaceful show of people power in February
