Why

SAGE is a community for all folks who love and care for our planet. Our monthly gatherings are a space to nourish each other, so that we can nourish our world.

Join us for an evening of delicious food, hearty discussion and new skills. The night will start with a shared meal, then we will move into community announcements, then into open space workshops, with lots of space for social breaks throughout.

This first SAGE of the year is next weekend on Sunday January 25th. It is the day before January 26th – also known as Survival Day, Invasion Day, or the Day of Mourning for First Nations peoples of this continent.

In recognition of this, SAGE’s theme this month will be “First Nations Focus: Support and Solidarity for Survival Day”.

Our gathering will be focused on supporting and standing in solidarity with First Nations peoples on this land. Come to connect and learn in preparation for the Survival Day Rally, which will take place the next day on Monday January 26th at Tarntanyagga / Victoria Square, from 11am.

Please note that this SAGE will be shorter than usual, running from 4.30pm to 7pm. We want to nourish you in advance of the rally. So if you think SAGE will drain you, or if you only have the time or energy for one event next weekend, PLEASE stay home from SAGE to rest and prioritise making it to the Survival Day Rally the next day. We need to show up in solidarity and stand together on the 26th, particularly in light of the escalation of racism and far-right hate this year.

If you do have time and energy, we would love to see you at SAGE on the 25th.
