Why

The Free Palestine movement will rally outside of the State Library of Victoria on Sunday, 11 January at 12pm to oppose Israeli violations and protest the visit of Israeli President, Isaac Herzog to Australia.

At least 406 people have been killed in Gaza since the commencement of the ceasefire while settler violence has increased in the West Bank.

Herzog’s visit whitewashes Israeli atrocities as the state of Israel is currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for the crime of genocide. Herzog has been named in the International Court of Justice proceedings, with statements he has made such as there are “no innocent civilians in Gaza” evidencing genocidal intent.

At the same time, we’re witnessing increased anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab and anti-Muslim racism and the despicable, baseless attempt to link the free Palestine movement with the horror of Bondi.

The Palestinian people continue to be subjected to an illegal occupation and ongoing genocide at the hands of the state of Israel.

The Gaza genocide continues, so must we.

Join us on the 11th to march for Palestine.
