Why
Stand in solidarity with Googatha Elder Aunty Sue for an urgent snap rally as Southern Launch prepares to fire a missile on her Country without consent, transparency, or any public evidence that the legally-required launch permits even exist.
Southern Launch has signaled launches from Koonibba Test Range, with balloon ascents initiated last week – a standard pre-launch procedure used hours before rocket firing.
Yet no launch permits, no dates, and no approvals have been published on any government website, despite strict requirements under the Space (Launches and Returns) Act 2018.
This is a breach of protocol, a breach of trust, and a direct continuation of colonisation.
Once again, militaries and corporations are operating on Aboriginal Land without following due process, oversight, or free, prior and informed consent – threatening sacred sites, damaging ecosystems, and disregarding sovereign rights.
Stand with Aunty Sue tomorrow to demand:
- Stop the launch
- Stop violating Googatha sovereignty
- Stop using sacred Country as a missile test range
