More than 200 people protested the Labor government's decision to increase funding to the police by more than $624 million.

Protesters called for the police to be defunded and abolished.

"Police don't make you safe," one speaker said.

Protesters marched to Queensland Police headquarters and later to the middle of the Queen Street Mall in a moving demonstration, led by First Nations people.
