Justice for Jorge

Kaurna Yerta/Adelaide

Why

When: Tuesday 11th April, 12 noon
Where: Parliament House, North Tce, Adelaide
Hosted by CFMEU SA

Jorge Castillo-Riffo died on the morning of November 27 2014. He had been working on the RAH construction site, and was discovered in a scissor lift, crushed against a ledge. His partner Pam’s last words to him as he left for work that morning were “be careful on the scissor lift”
Now, 28 months later, SafeWork SA have dropped prosecutions against both SRG and HYLC with barley a word of explanation.
Jorge was always studious in his approach to safety. He took his responsibility to his workmates very seriously, and wasn’t afraid to voice his concerns. In spite of this, he went to work one day and never came home. His family deserve answers.
We call on the South Australian Government, and Premier Jay Weatherill to:
Launch a Coronial Inquiry into the death of Jorge Castillo-Riffo
Launch an Inquiry into the continued failure of the prosecutions launched by Safe Work SA
