Join Anakbayan Sydney and Anakbayan Melbourne on Sunday, 1 February 2026, as KATRIBU Kalipunan connects from the Philippines with audiences on Gadigal land (Sydney) and Naarm (Melbourne), with the panel discussion from different indigenous struggles around the world.

The program features a National Minority Situationer on the Indigenous and Bangsamoro situation in the Philippines presented by KATRIBU, followed by a panel discussion with Indigenous activists from the Philippines, Gadigal land, Naarm, West Papua, and Latin America. The conversation aims to build anti-colonial, anti-imperial global solidarity for First Nations’ struggles for land, life and dignity.

Gurrnoong (Jasper Cohen-Hunter) is a Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung gulinj from Narrm (Melbourne). He is a media practitioner, writer and community organiser dedicated to advancing the struggle for Wurundjeri Sovereignty. His published work is focused on an Indigenous perspective to decolonisation, anti-capitalism and anti- imperialism from within the so-called Australia. He is also an independent researcher on cultural revitalisation, native ecology and frontier resistance. 

Marisol Salinas Caicheo is an Indigenous Mapuche Huiliche from the South of Chile who is currently residing in Narrm in so-called Australia. Marisol is an activist who has been campaigning and denouncing Human Rights Violations against the Mapuche and First Nations Peoples Rights and grass roots activists in Latin American. Cofounder of LASNET (Latin American Solidarity Network). Presenter of “La Chakra Mujeres Latinoamericanas” (Current Affairs, Language and urban veggie & medicinal herbs garden Program at 3CR Community Radio. Coordinator of MASIL Exchange (Mapuche-Aboriginal Struggles for Indigenous Land) (Mapuche struggle and exile). Profession a Social Anthropologist. 

A speaker representing the struggle of West Papuans for land, justice and self- determination.

A rapper, drummer, composer, and producer, he brings an unmatched energy to the stage. Proudly identifying as Filipino and Murrawarri, DOBBY's roots run deep in the Aboriginal lands of Brewarrina and Weilmoringle in New South Wales.
