Coal corporation Yancoal wants to bulldoze through 480 hectares of habitat that’s ‘critical to the survival of koalas’ near Mudgee to expand its Moolarben coal mine.
But we have a chance to protect koalas from their destructive plans.
On 10 February, the Independent Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in Mudgee to decide the fate of this dangerous coal expansion.
We need people power to show them the community says NO to the Moolarben coal expansion, can you show up and join the rally?
Bring your voice and your friends and family, and your signs and placards!
Decision-makers need to see that people care more about protecting koalas than coal company profits - every person who shows up will send a really powerful message on the day.
Join us at the rally outside the IPC hearing to speak up for koalas, our climate and to stand with the Mudgee community!
Transport to the Rally
- Overnight accommodation + camping and transportation from Newcastle and Sydney to the rally departing Monday and returning Tuesday will be available but limited, so please let us know via return email after you have RSVP'd, if you'd like to ride with us and/or require accommodation and we will get in touch.
