Maung Maung Than, secretary of the Australian Coalition for Democracy in Burma and veteran of the 1988 student uprising, told Green Left that Burma Revolution Day on March 27 will be marked by actions around the world in support of the people's resistance to the military coup regime of Myanmar/Burma.
He said that the resistance forces now controlled more than half of the country and that the military coup regime only had control of a third. He also explained that the Australian government's response to the February 1, 2021 military coup (which seized power from a government popularly elected in 2020) was very late and weak.
