Video: Geelong socialist candidate slams budget as 'insult' to people struggling to survive
Socialist Alliance candidate for the Geelong seat of Corio Sue Bull told Green Left, a day after Treasurer Josh Frydenberg delivered the 2022-23 federal budget, that the one-off $250 cost-of-living payment for pensioners and others struggling to survive on welfare was "an insult".
She also said workers need real wage rises and the budget had totally failed to address the climate emergency even as parts of Australia are being hit with disastrous floods following the terrifying bush fire emergency of 2019-20.
