The Parramatta Climate Action Network (ParraCAN) will stage a Walk Against Warming (WAW) in Parramatta CBD on November 15, as a lead-in to the city-wide event being organised at 11am.

The Parramatta event will begin at 8.45am at the Parramatta Mall amphitheater. ParraCAN member and WAW organiser Annie Nielsen said on October 17, "The NSW government claims to recognise the threat faced by climate change yet continues to approve new coal-fired power stations.

"At the local level, Parramatta Council is to be congratulated for committing to a number of important activities to reduce dangerous climate change, such as supporting the use of Greenpower in Council operations, but more needs to be done".
