Why

In February this year, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, “2023 is a year of reckoning. We need disruption to end the destruction.”

This forum will discuss why we need a mass, diverse and disruptive climate movement and how we can build one that has the power and strategy to match the urgency of the climate crisis and achieve transformative change.

With Alexa Stuart, 19-year-old climate activist from Rising Tide Newcastle. More speakers TBC.

This is the Blue Mountains leg of Rising Tide’s climate justice speaking tour promoting its next national mobilisation: a 2-day, 3,000-strong, family-friendly flotilla blockade of Newcastle port (the largest coal port in the world) in November.
