Photos: Muloobinba/Newcastle stands with Palestine, calls for ceasefire now

We chanted “From the River to the sea, Palestine will be free” as we marched on November 4 in solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters against Israel’s brutal massacre in Gaza.

We marched against Labor’s refusal to call for a ceasefire and its support for Israel’s war.

Photos were hard to take because I had too many tears. I watched young kids marching through the streets, crying out words that they should be far too young to be aware of — genocide, massacre, occupation and bombs.

I saw their parents’ faces full worry and grief and with such a great sadness: this community has been brought together by unimaginable atrocities committed against them.

However grief is not experienced in a vacuum and yesterday, along with grief, overwhelming feelings of hope and determination, strength and love, resistance and comradery were also there. We stand with the people of occupied Palestine and we are not giving up.
