NSW stop the privatisation forum

July 10, 2010

Unions NSW has endorsed and is sponsoring the "stop the privatisation" forum organised by the New South Wales Teachers Federation (NSWTF).

The NSWTF has invited speakers from a range of public sector unions, including the Public Sector Association, Nurses Association and Fire Brigade Employees Union. Speakers will show how the NSW government's privatisation agenda has damaged service delivery and caused job cuts and the erosion of wages and working conditions.

A date and venue for the forum is yet to be determined. However, public sector employees should contact their union office to find out how union members can take part in and promote the forum.

The NSWTF Council voted in June for a public sector-wide delegates meeting to be organised for the forum. This will create a space for public sector workers and the community to network, organise and support cross-union campaigns.
