Why

There is an increased recognition internationally that Israel is an apartheid state whose foundation rests on the continued oppression of Palestinians. Gaza has been an open-air prison for the Palestinian people for over 16 years. As their indiscriminate killing continues, there is still no worldwide condemnation of the injustice of the illegal occupation of Palestine.

Palestinian trade unions are urging the international labour movement to take action in support of the Palestinian-led movement against Israeli occupation, colonisation and apartheid.

Palestinians have been denied their fundamental rights for more than 75 years, since 'Al Nakba' - which translates to "The Catastrophe" on May 15, 1948, when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were forcibly removed from their homes and land.

Join in this discussion hosted by Green Left and Socialist Alliance on the urgent need for ongoing international solidarity and how we can better support the Palestinian people in their struggle.
