SYDNEY — Dr Adam Lucas, the Sydney coordinator of the climate research and advocacy group Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE), told a July 14 meeting that BZE's stationary energy plan showed it was possible for Australian to move to 100% renewable energy in a decade.

Lucas gave an outline of the report, which will be launched publicly in Sydney in August.

Socialist Alliance candidate for Parramatta in the upcoming federal elections, Duncan Roden, also addressed the meeting. Roden said we need an emergency program of climate action to respond to the climate emergency. He summarised the key conclusions of the new Socialist Alliance climate charter.

Twenty five people attended the public meeting, which was organised by the Sydney central branch of the Socialist Alliance.
