Climate jobs, not new coal

April 10, 2010

About 30 people rallied outside the office of Victorian Minister for Energy and Resources, Peter Batchelor, to demand "climate jobs not new coal" on March 29

Protesters called for an end to new coal-fired power stations and for direct investment in 100% renewable energy.

Speakers included Mark Ogge from Beyond Zero Emissions, Damien Lawson from the Victorian Climate Action Centre, Chris Breen from Save Solar Systems, Jim Green and Madeline Hudson from Friends of the Earth, Brian Walters from the Greens and a speaker from the United Firefighters Union.
