Art of Resistance

The art of Resistance paints the town red
a carpet lining the streets for angry mourners to march on
blood red of the butchers, Suharto, Habibie, Howard, Evans
a list too long to read in three decades;
it creates a collage of people, banners, voices, placards;
a poem of ten lines that says it all to those prepared to listen;
it draws a picture in ink, an illustration of a future;
a sketch of the approaching death of capitalism;
a photographic exhibition of truth behind the lies of monopolised media;
a sculpture of broken chains, a pen, a raised fist;
a stage of performers acting out a struggle we all feel;
and the finale,
a song, a dance,
a revolution!
