Hundreds marched through Sydney as part of a National Day of Action on June 18 to demand justice for Kumanjayi Walker, justice for the many deaths of First Nations people in custody, an end to the discriminatory Intervention powers and reassertion of community control.

The marchers supported the demands from Yuendumu community outlined in their statement Karrinjarla Muwajarri and called for an immediate police ceasefire, an end to police brutality and the right to self-determination for First Nations communities.

The rally before the march heard a moving plea for action from Warlpiri woman Aunty Audrey Napanangka Williams, an elder from Yuendumu and Kumanjayi Walker's grandmother.
