During the last few years, visits to the Green Left Weekly web page have been steadily rising, but they've taken a dramatic leap in the last month, probably reflecting the rising anti-war consciousness and activity.

In April 2001, visits to the GLW web site averaged 707 a day (with 3702 pages viewed, 10,460 hits). By April 2002, visits had risen to 1196 per day, and by the end of the year had jumped to 3000. By February this year, the visits were averaging 4559 per day, and in the first few days of March were at an incredible 6001 visits per day (28,365 pages viewed, 39,793 hits per day).

Green Left Weekly has also risen sharply in the Alexa ranking of sites. Alexa, an Amazon company, monitors sites and ranks them by the number of users and page turns. In mid-December, GLW was ranked 158,713 worldwide (this includes all sites - corporate, commercial, media etc. Top sites are the likes of Yahoo and Google). By March 7, the GLW ranking had risen to 116,818.

In comparison, the NSW Labor Council's site rated at 116,611, the Australian Conservation Foundation at 136,232, the national ALP site at 201,761, the Liberal Party site at 254,036 and the Australian Greens at 336,126.

GLW compares very favourably with other left-wing papers around the world. The USA Workers World is ranked 160,182, the US Militant 247,398 and the US Socialist Worker 280,442. The British Socialist Worker is ranked 239,623 worldwide.
