Sydney Road Accessible Tram Stops (SATS) campaign

When

7:00pm Saturday 13 May

Where

The Lamb Cafe
264 Sydney Rd
Brunswick VIC 3056
Australia

Why

The Sydney Road Accessible Tram Stops campaign was initiated by Christian Astourian. As a person with disability Christian will be detrimentally impacted by the planned construction of the Sky Rail in Brunswick without real, regular and reliable transport alternatives during the construction period.

Construction is likely to take place in 2026/2027. Thus there is sufficient time for the Victorian Government to make the tram stops on Sydney Road accessible prior to construction which they were mandated to have completed by December 2022.

An active launch of the SATS campaign will be held on Saturday 13 May 2023, 10.30am at The Lamb Cafe, 264 Sydney Rd (opposite Brunswick Town Hall) - outside if weather permitting. It is an active launch as we will equip supporters with copies of petitions, leaflets, letterboxing maps and posters to immediately start campaigning on the day. Christian will be there of course.

We are asking you to support the campaign by signing the online petition

Here is a great interview with Christian about the campaign, aired on 3CR CityLimitS https://omny.fm/shows/city-limits/city-limits-3-may-2023

We look forward to meeting you at the campaign launch - our lead chant will be:

Hey Dan, What's your plan?

Christian can't get on the tram!
