About 20,000 people took part in Switzerland's biggest anti-nuclear march in 25 years on May 22, Swissinfo.ch said that day.

“Chanting and waving placards, anti-nuclear protesters marched in two groups to the site of Beznau, Switzerland’s oldest nuclear power plant which is located in canton Aargau,” the article said.

Organisers said about 150 political parties and environmental organisations joined the march.

Swissinfo.ch said about 40% of Switzerland's energy comes from nuclear power. A protest organiser said: “The catastrophe at Fukushima has entirely changed the debate about energy. Politicians and power companies can no longer ignore it.”

On May 25, the Swiss government announced it planned to phase out nuclear power by 2034, Bloomberg said that day.

The US government has been working on this technology for over 10 years. Please take 15 min and explore the links provided. Why the US media is reluctant to cover this is astounding. Andrea Rossi has given three demonstrations so far including with professors from Bologna University and the Swedish skeptics society and the Chairman of the Swedish Physics Union. This is an directory of Rossi efforts http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Andrea_A._Rossi_Cold_Fusion_Generator. This is a link to the LENR site where detailed information about cold fusion efforts is available. www.lenr-canr.org/News... The US Naval Research lab has been working on this with positive results for over 10 years and has confirmed it existence. \ Rossi has announced a 1MW Cold Fusion facility to be opened in Greece this Oct. Still top line periodicals have yet to publish even one article. This will change the economics of the world lifting many people out of poverty and it will also threaten many vested interests. http://pesn.com/2011/05/17/9501827_Ampenergo_Amps_Up_Rossis_Energy_Catalyzer_in_America/ "..Ampenergo was founded by Karl Norwood, Richard Noceti, Robert Gentile and Craig Cassarino. It is important to note that Robert Gentile was the Assistant Secretary of Energy for Fossil Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) during the early 1990's. This helps confirm Rossi's claim that tests of the E-Cat have been observed by the U.S. Department of Defense and the DOE. It is very likely that at least certain individuals in the DOD and DOE are aware and interested in the Energy Catalyzer. However, their silence is deafening. It is unknown if any military or secret government research is taking place, but there are unsubstantiated rumors floating around the internet of the US Navy using a nickel-hydrogen cold fusion reactor to power a submarine. Although the rumor is not likely to be true, if they have known about the technology for a couple of years, it is possible testing is taking place. Trillions of dollars go missing from the DOD budget on a regular basis, and the money is obviously being spent on something..."
Is Victoria's geothermal potential being suppressed by the uranium and oil industry? How many people know that the geothermal exploration and development rights for Victoria's most promising geothermal locations (roughly, Angelsea and Lakes Entrance) were sold by the Victorian State Govt to a company called Greenearth Energy Ltd, whose board consists of board members of Rum Jungle Uranium Mines and Lakes Oil Ltd, in 2004? A geothermal plant is supposed to be being built near Angelsea right now (apporopriately, only a couple of kms from the coal mine and coal-fired power station there) - but publicity is zero. Why? Details are here: http://tinyurl.com/australiangeothermal and more details in various other posts on: http://criticalidealism.net.au The outback town of Innamincka in SA is already being 100% geothermally powered right now. We live on a huge ball of molten lava with a thin cool crust. All the energy we could ever need is right under our nose - or rather, feet - with zero carbon emissions, zero radioactivity danger, zero terrorist magnet, zero waste problem. Together with wind and solar, geothermal could definitely make 100% renewables a reality in under 10 years - but the uramium and oil industries will do everything they can to stop this, and therin lies the real challenge.
