Scoop: Hanson, Ruddock same person

Issue

BY CHRIS SLEE

Green Left Weekly is able to exclusively reveal what many have suspected for a long time. Not only are the policies of immigration minister Philip Ruddock identical to those advocated by Pauline Hanson — but they are actually one and the same person.

Through an unnamed source, this newspaper has unearthed a secret report to federal cabinet, which reads:

"Our hard line against boat people has been a such a great success that we have decided to make it retrospective.

"All undesirable elements who are descended from people who arrived by boat will be put in concentration camps (sorry, detention centres) in the middle of the Simpson Desert, until we are able to send them back to their country of origin.

"Those who arrived on the First Fleet were mainly convicts — i.e. criminals. Some people say that stealing a loaf of bread is not a major crime — but it is only a short step from there to organising strikes for higher wages, which is equivalent to stealing from your employer. Anyone descended from the convicts who arrived on the First Fleet will be deported

"According to some reports, Aborigines first came to Australia by boat. If this can be confirmed, they will be deported for failing to gain permission from the legitimate authorities. The fact that there were no legitimate authorities at the time is no excuse. They should have waited until Australia became part of the British Empire, then asked permission from the King.

"Also, a large number of Irish people came by boat. It is well known that the Irish are troublemakers. They continually rebelled against British rule, and when they came to Australia they organised the Eureka rebellion. Everyone of Irish descent should be sent back where they came from.

Pauline Ruddock,

Minister for Immigration"
