Mina O'Shea is a year 12 student at Sydney Girls High. A founding member of Secondary Students Against the War, she is also active in the Environmental Youth Alliance, Sydney High Environment Group and Resistance.
"When I was in kindergarten, our teacher asked all the students to tell her what we wanted to be when we grew up. I told her 'a witch'. She said 'there's no such thing as witches, why don't you be a ballerina?'. This year as I leave school, I am so conscious of the few limited paths we are expected to take and of course none of these are to become active and organise to change the world. For me, this is the most fulfilling path anyone could take.
