Why

Pat Conroy is the Federal Minister for the Pacific . The Gloucester, MidCoast, Hunter and Central Coast Knitting Nannas, in conjunction with Rising Tide Newcastle are hosting monthly 'knit-ins' outside his Belmont office to highlight the ALP's ongoing support of coal and gas expansions that are undermining a safe future for Pacific Island people.

Join us to tell Pat Conroy: Climate Justice in the Pacific means NO NEW COAL OR GAS.

The Albanese government recognises that the Pacific is facing a climate emergency and yet despite this and ongoing pleas from Pacific leaders, they continue pouring fuel on the fire by approving new coal and gas.

Please join us at an upcoming knit-in! You don't have to be a nanna and you don't have to knit! You just need to care about justice for our Pacific Island neighbours.

These knit-ins will be held on the first Friday of every month, Check Facebook event for times.
