Following the registration of the People's Democratic Party (PRD) for the June 7 Indonesian general election (see article page 18), Indonesia's attorney-general, Muladi, has announced that he will this week submit an application to the Supreme Court for a pardon for Budiman Sujatmiko, Dita Sari and all other PRD prisoners.

Muladi said Indonesia's armed forces have no objection to the release of PRD prisoners. He is also considering applying for pardons for Indonesian Communist Party prisoners who have been in jail since 1965.
