Supporters of free speech and whistleblowers gathered outside the Tasmanian Parliament in Hobart on July 3 to mark Julian Assange’s birthday.

Speakers, including former Greens leader Christine Milne, lawyer Greg Barns and Greens Senator Nick McKim, reminded Prime Minister Anthony Albanese that time is running out for the Wikileaks founder.

Assange’s lawyers have lodged an appeal to the British High Court over the British government’s decision on June 17 to approve his extradition to the United States.
