Pride and Prejudice — A Sri Lankan photographer, resident in Britain for 37 years, is inspired, after being attacked himself 10 years ago by a bunch of skinheads, to examine the concept of racism. He finds intolerance within his own community towards mixed marriages, religion and social structures. SBS, Saturday, July 25, 4.30pm.

Cold War Casualty: the Strange Case of Noel Field — Field was a Swiss-born US Quaker and a pacifist who embraced communism as a result of the Spanish Civil War. However, he continued to work for the State Department and was sent to Eastern Europe. He was arrested in Hungary as a US spy. After five years he was declared innocent and released, but chose to stay in Hungary. SBS, Monday, July 27, 11.05pm.

Movie: Beggars and Nobles (Shatoun wa Noubalaa) (1991) — Asthma Elbakri's film uses the investigation of the murder of a prostitute, to explore wider social issues of poverty, oppression and injustice in Egypt. SBS, Tuesday, July 28, 12.30pm.

Inside Story: Against Nature: The Myth of Too Many — The conclusion of a two-part series from Britain's Channel 4, arguing that many environmentalists exaggerate the problem posed by increasing human population.

Movie: The Long Winter (El Largo Invierno) (1992) — Jaime Camino's moving tribute to the doomed Spanish republic's final months before the fall of Barcelona in 1939, as seen through the eyes of an upper middle class Catalan family. SBS, Wednesday, July 29, 11.40pm.
