Feminist group formed after Slutwalk

About 500 people took part in a June 11 march to demand an end to victim blaming in sexual assault. This was followed by a screening of the film War Zone in the Adelaide Activist Centre. About 30 people attended.

The film screening was jointly hosted by the Socialist Alliance and the Femment Feminist Collective. It was followed by a discussion on the politics of Slutwalk and the future of feminism.

From the discussion the South Australian Feminist Collective (SAFC) was founded. All in attendance joined the contact list.

hi my name is veronica and was really hoping i could get some support. i was working in a parlour in melbourne called california club. after going in with a client, he wanted to do something with me, i politely refused then explained to him the dangers of what he wanted. the client got upset he couldnt get what he wanted and went to reception an requested his money back. at first reception refused him but he then threatened to cut receptions throat so they gave his money back and fired me. like i am responsible for his actions! thursday 23rd at 4pm i will be protesting out the front of california club which is on st kilda road stkilda. on my signs ill have, california club supports violance against sex workers, i was fired bcause of a drunk violant man, and i was fired cause a drunk man threatened to slit receptions throat. i want the world to know how badly i was treated by this place. please come and join me, ill have jack cans. not much i know but its about whats right.
