We call on all people of conscience to join us on Sunday 24th August from 1pm in Raymond Park, Kangaroo Point, to march across the Story Bridge for Palestine.
We are witnessing a genocide where death is not the most harrowing reality. Since May, over 1500 people have been shot dead lining up for food that they desperately need to feed their families. Israel is deliberately starving the two million Palestinians who live in Gaza. Every child under the age of five in Gaza is now malnourished because Israeli occupation forces are systematically blocking humanitarian aid and food trucks from reaching those in need.
Australia has a direct link to this genocide. Our government is supplying essential weapons components for F-35 fighter jets, which have been used by Israel to rain death on Palestinians throughout this livestreamed genocide.
We are taking this protest to the Story Bridge to reflect the urgency of the situation in Gaza. This is the same bridge our Lord Mayor refused to light in the colours of the Palestinian flag, denying solidarity to a grieving community. This protest is a reminder that we might be the ones spared the bombs, but we are not spared the responsibility.
We will rally at 1pm in Raymond Park (corner of Main St and Baines St, Kangaroo Point), with the march across the Story Bridge commencing at 2pm and finishing at Centenary Place, Fortitude Valley.
Join the Nationwide March for Palestine to demand:
- Stop the starvation, stop the genocide!
- Stop arming Israel!
- Sanction Israel now!
Bring your family, friends and coworkers and spread this message. Let’s make this the biggest march for Palestine Brisbane has seen yet!
This will be a very large event and we will continue to update our social media and email list recipients with all the essential information as it is organised.
