Why

Yancoal is currently seeking approval for a proposed expansion of open cut coal mine Moolarben, on Wiradjuri country around 30 minutes north of Mudgee. Moolarben is one of the largest coal mines in NSW, and the coal extracted there is shipped through the Port of Newcastle. The impacts of this mine have been devastating for people, animals and environment around the world - to expand is to continue, compound and intensify the damage.

The proposed expansion would involve clearing 113ha of endangered koala habitat, and would also have a significant impact on other endangered species such as the regent honeyeater, large eared pied bat and eastern cave bat.

Join us at the site of the Yancoal AGM to support our proxies who will be going in to ask questions, and send a clear message to executives and shareholders that we the people say NO NEW COAL and PROTECT OUR WILDLIFE AND LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS!
